Deze thesis richt zich op de pedagogische waarde van videogame muziek en de manier waarop het iets kan aanleren over klassieke muziek. Het onderzoekt de mogelijkheden met behulp van drie case studies: een gameplay analyse van pianosimulator Pianista, een partituuranalyse van "The Rebel Army" uit Final Fantasy II voor piano en een etnografie over de connectie tussen videogame muziek en klassieke muziek als ervaren door 30 deelnemers. De thesis concludeert dat de videogame muziek op verschillende manieren een 'gateway' kan zijn naar klassieke muziek.

Deze scriptie is het onderzoek naar de artistieke werking van spelerscollectief Camping Sunset. De focus is het begrip 'spelersdramaturgie' en de invloed die Jan Steen gehad heeft op de betekenis ervan.

Hoe is de klassieke mythe tot in de moderne westerse literatuur geraakt en waarom raken de verhalen ons nog steeds? Deze sciptie handelt over de overdracht van oude verhalen en hoe ze te hergebruiken in een moderne tijd.

Vanuit verschillende modellen binnen het interdisciplinaire onderzoeksveld Disability Studies, is er onderzocht hoe kinderen met autisme theaterlessen ervaren. Dit zorgt voor een complex en gelaagd beeld van de kinderen die het essentialistische en reductionistische karakteriseringsverhaal overstijgt. Beide deelnemers van dit onderzoek beleefden de theaterlessen op een andere manier. Ieder kind met autisme is dan ook uniek.

Een vergelijkend onderzoek naar de (h)erkenning van het theoretische kader ‘Cultuur in De Spiegel – (Vlaanderen)’ door leerlingen, leerkrachten en experts met betrekking tot kwalitatieve danseducatie in het Vlaamse lager onderwijs.

Het doel van deze thesis is een advies te vormen ter verbetering van het Vlaamse formele onderwijs. Daarbij werd onderzocht in welke mate de theoretische onderbouwing CiS(v)- om te komen tot meer kwaliteit binnen formele danseducatie in Vlaanderen- (h)erkend wordt door de belanghebbende.

This master thesis employs techniques of ethnographic research, analysis and qualitative interviewing to explore empirically originating understandings of how ‘liveness’ influences music performance from artist’s perspective. The topic is highly relevant and challenging as it explores the importance of performing live as opposed to mediatised performance (radio, TV broadcasts, CD recordings). ‘Liveness’ is a concept that applies to the theatre and music but not to the other forms of arts, such as visual arts, literature since the core of ‘liveness’ lies within the simultaneous presence of the artist and the audience. In terms of scope of literature in this area, this specific topic is still rather under-researched with growing interest in its relevance. Whereas there are many researchers and articles exploring ‘liveness’ in theatre or from audience perception, this thesis fills the niche of the impact of performing live upon the artist in the field of music.

Deze scriptie brengt de vergeten clarsach, een oude Ierse harp, terug onder de aandacht en tracht de plaats van het instrument onder de verzamelnaam ‘Keltische harpen’ preciezer te duiden. Er wordt nagegaan wat er precies onder de term 'Keltisch' verstaan moet worden en waarom wij de klepjesharp van vandaag nog steeds 'Keltisch' harp noemen.

De vocale muziek neemt bij César Franck (1822-1890) een grote plaats in en één van de belangrijkste vocale werken is het onderwerp van deze scriptie. In tegenstelling tot zijn Six Pièces d’orgue – waar boeken vol van zijn geschreven – is weinig eenduidige informatie over zijn Messe à trois voix te vinden. Het doel was om na research een reconstructie van deze mis te maken en volgens historische waarden een zo getrouw mogelijke uitvoering te laten weerklinken.
