Boeren vanuit je zetel: toekomst of fabels?

De landbouw staat continu in evolutie. Voorlopig toch nog evolutie, maar misschien zal dit weldra een revolutie worden wanneer drones en robots toegelaten worden. 

We weten nog allemaal goed wanneer we voor het eerst spraken over precisielandbouw: de gps. Zo konden we voor het eerst recht rijden op akkers en verlies van grondstoffen beperken. Meteen werd een nieuwe generatie landbouwers geboren: de satelietboeren. De kloof tussen oud en jong werd groter maar het gebruik van de technologie bleef beperkt. Dit had verschillende oorzaken: kostprijs en gebruik, maar natuurlijk ook de gemiddelde leeftijd van de landbouwers in Vlaanderen...

De tijd geeft niet stil gestaan en technologiën ontwikkelende zichzelf opnieuw. Meer en meer werd gestreefd naar grotere precisie en juistheid want leidde tot het pad van de drones en robots. Deze toestellen kunnen vele zaken in de landbouw vereenvoudigen en sneller uitvoeren maar hiervoor is een kwalitatief sensor systeem noodzakelijk. Een mogelijkheid zijn multispectrale sensoren waarover ik mijn masterproef schreef. Deze sensoren kunnen data verzamelen die met een correct logaritme de drone en robot het veld in stuurt. 
Zo kan je je velden bewerken zonder maar één vinger uit te steken en dit dus vanuit je luie zetel!

Indien je hierover meer wilt weten, moet je zeker mijn masterproef eens doornemen. Naast enkele verkennende onderzoeken met een multispectrale sensor worden ook de andere aspecten van precisielandbouw onder de loep genomen.
