In dit exploratief onderzoek bestuderen we de morele en emotionele reacties van Vlamingen met een Marokkaanse migratieachtergrond op gemediatiseerd lijden. Een korte literatuurstudie naar het onderzoeksveld van mediated distant suffering, een etnisch-divers publiek en het concept 'proper distance' leidt de masterproef in. Wat volgt, is een analyse van 5 focusgroepen die onthult hoe de etnisch-culturele achtergrond van de respondenten een belangrijke rol speelt in het ontstaan en de motivatie van hun reacties.

Dear gentlemen,
To start off this defence, I will sketch the problems concerning the theology of the cross that my research has inquired into. Next, I will briefly outline the scope of my research, sketching the answers proposed by the feminist theologians in my reading and finally I will voice the results I arrived at.
